About Instinctive Systems

I created Instinctive Systems in 1991. I was initially involved in large scale IT developments for corporate clients until in 1996 I developed a membership and event bookings software system aimed at small to medium sized business which is still in use by a handful of customers today.
Throughout my years in IT my main focus has been to help organisations streamline their processes through the use of technology, often creating dramatic cost savings as well as helping to stimulate rapid growth.
Designing things that are easy to use and liaising with clients at a level that they can understand without overwhelming them with technical jargon has always been a strength and a primary design aim – hence the name ‘Instinctive Systems’.
Although I have worked with many organisations in many sectors I particularly like working with the smaller business on a personal level where I can make big differences quickly.
Since 2015 I have been heavily involved in the business of my printmaker and illustrator partner Lucy Gell and other artists, makers and photographers. I have started to wind down Instinctive Systems and Book-It software in favour of work I now do through Simple Art Marketing Ltd.
Whilst not actively looking for new Book-It software customers I still continue to support a small number of long term customers with Book-It software.
